Stolen from Barking Moonbat who stole it from the 1911 Forum.
There’s a lot of misinformation out there these days about people who have chosen to exercise their right to carry a concealed weapon according to the provisions made by state governments.
Here are a few things that CWP holders want people to know about them. Now of course there are exceptions to these general rules but I think you’ll find these things to be true about the vast majority of your legally carrying neighbors.
1. We don’t carry firearms so that we can ignore other basics of personal safety.
Every permit holder that I know realizes that almost all dangerous situations can be avoided by vigilance, alertness and by simply making wise choices about where one goes and what one does. We don’t walk down dark alleys. We lock our cars. We don’t get intoxicated in public or hang out around people who do. We park our cars in well lighted spots and don’t hang out in bad parts of town where we have no business. A gun is our last resort, not our first.
2. We don’t think we are cops, spies, or superheros.
We aren’t hoping that somebody tries to rob the convenience store while we are there so we can shoot a criminal. We don’t take it upon ourselves to get involved in situations that are better handled by a 911 call or by simply standing by and being a good witness. We don’t believe our guns give us any authority over our fellow citizens. We also aren’t here to be your unpaid volunteer bodyguard. We’ll be glad to tell you where we trained and point you to some good gun shops if you feel you want to take this kind of responsibility for your personal safety. Except for extrordinary circumstances your business is your business, don’t expect us to help you out of situations you could have avoided.
3. We are LESS likely, not more likely, to be involved in fights or “rage” incidents than the general public.
We recognize, better than many unarmed citizens, that we are responsible for our actions. We take the responsibility of carrying a firearm very seriously. We know that loss of temper, getting into fights or angrily confronting someone after a traffic incident could easily escalate into a dangerous situation. We are more likely to go out of our way to avoid these situations. We don’t pull our guns to settle arguments or to attempt to threaten people into doing what we want.
4. We are responsible gun owners.
We secure our firearms so that children and other unauthorized people cannot access them. Most of us have invested in safes, cases and lock boxes as well as other secuity measures to keep our firearms secure. Many of us belong to various organizations that promote firearms safety and ownership.
5. Guns are not unsafe or unpredictable.
Modern firearms are well made precision instruments. Pieces do not simply break off causing them to fire. A hot day will not set them off. Most modern firearms will not discharge even if dropped. There is no reason to be afraid of a gun simply laying on a table or in a holster. It is not going to discharge on its own.
6. We do not believe in the concept of “accidental discharges”.
There are no accidental discharges only negligent discharges or intentional discharges. We take responsibility for our actions and have learned how to safely handle firearms. Any case you have ever heard of about a gun “going off” was the result of negligence on somebody’s part. Our recognition of our responsibility and familiarity with firearms makes us among the safest firearms owners in America.
7. Permit holders do their best to keep our concealed weapons exactly that: concealed.
However, there are times with an observant fellow citizen may spot our firearm or the print of our firearm under our clothes. We are very cognizant that concerns about terrorism and crime are in the forefront of the minds of most citizens. We also realize that our society does much to condition our fellow citizens to have sometimes irrational fears about firearms. We would encourage citizens who do happen to spot someone carrying a firearm to use good judgment and clear thinking if they feel to need to take action. Please recognize that it’s very uncommon for a criminal to use a holster. However, if you feel the need to report having spotted a firearm we would ask that you please be specific and detailed in your call to the police or in your report to a store manager or private security. Please don’t generalize or sensationalize what you observed. Comments like “there’s a guy running around in the store with a gun” or even simply “I saw a man with a gun in the store” could possibly cause a misunderstanding as to the true nature of the incident.
8. The fact that we carry a firearm to any given place does not mean that we believe that place to be inherently unsafe.
If we believe a place to be unsafe, most of us would avoid that place all together if possible. However, we recognize that trouble could occur at any place and at any time. Criminals do not observe “gun free zones”. If trouble does come, we do not want the only armed persons to be perpetrators. Therefore, we don’t usually make a determination about whether or not to carry at any given time based on “how safe” we think a location is.
9. Concealed weapon permit holders are an asset to the public in times of trouble.
The fact that most permit holders have the good judgment to stay out of situations better handled by a 911 call or by simply being a careful and vigilant witness does not mean that we would fail to act in situations where the use of deadly force is appropriate to save lives. Review of high profile public shooting incidents shows that when killers are confronted by armed resistance they tend to either break off the attack and flee or choose to end their own life. Lives are saved when resistance engages a violent criminal. Lives are lost when the criminal can do as he pleases.
10. The fact that criminals know that some of the population may be armed at any given time helps to deter violence against all citizens.
Permit holders don’t believe that every person should necessarily be armed. We recognize that some people may not be temperamentally suited to carry a firearm or simply may wish not to for personal reasons. However we do encourage you to respect our right to arm ourselves. Even if you choose not to carry a firearm yourself please oppose measures to limit the ability of law abiding citizens to be armed. As mentioned before: criminals do not observe “gun free zones”. Help by not supporting laws that require citizens to be unarmed victims.
Amen Brothers and Sisters!

Who is more dangerous?
I know I am gonna piss people off (mostly Moonbat Libs) but it must be done>
Your Honor, if it pleases the court, I want this entered as Evidence #1.
Shawn Sherwin Labeet.
Scumbag who shot and killed a Miami-Dade Police Officer and wounded three more.
His use of a so-called "Assault Rifle" has led to Moonbats everywhere to demand the destruction of the Second Amendment. Shawn Sherwin Labeet was taken down by police and saved the Miami-Dade taxpayers lots of money.
And now Your Honor, I present Evidence #2
Seung Hui Cho
Student at Virginia Tech who committed the mass murder of 32 people with two handguns. Again, Moonbats everywhere demanded the elimination of weapons in civilian possession. Seung Hui Cho took the easy way out and capped his own sorry ass saving the Commonwealth of Virginia a decent amount of cash.
And now, I present to the Court Evidence #3
Michael Isikoff
investigative journalist for Newsweek. On May 1, 2005 Michael Isikoff's story about guards at Guantanamo Bay flushing a Koran down the toilet appeared in Newsweek. The story turned out to be false and Newsweek retracted but at the end, some 60 people were killed during riots in different Muslim countries. Mr. Isikoff's story actually killed more people than Seung Hui Cho & Shawn Sherwin Labeet combined. You would think that Mr. Isikoff should be in jail right now serving a lengthy prison sentence for being more dangerous that 2 cold blooded killers but no, after basically saying "Oops! I screwed up, my bad!" Mr. Isikoff is not only free but still delving as Journalist.
So, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I ask: Who is more dangerous? The answer is not only easy but logical. Unfortunately Mr. Isikoff's allies in the MainStream Media will not denounce him for the mass murderer he is but will blame inanimate objects such as guns as the true dangers of our time. Why they do not apply the same adjectives to Mr. Isikoff's computer & word processing software is beyond rational understanding.

Miami Herald still does not get it.
I do want to live in the La-La Land where the Miami Herald reporters live. It should be fun to exist in a place where using your higher brain functions is optional. On today's issue and under the banner of Today's "Top Stories" Beth Reinhard and Leslie Clark try to do a hit piece against the Right of the People to Carry and Bear Arms. Both alleged reporters are shocked that florida politicians are not getting medieval against guns (God forbid they get nasty on criminals and loonies) after the massacre in Virginia Tech, (I mean, wouldn't this be a perfect world without guns damn it?)
And, to confirm that Reinhard and Clark are nothing more than liberal mouthpieces, they cite the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (An impartial, caring source, right?) and its rating for Florida: F minus plus.
Reinhard baby, Clarke Sweetie, get over it. If anything, V-Tech painfully demonstrated that a Gun Free Zone is nothing more than a slaughterhouse waiting to happen. And if the sad event did not give the push you two expected to pass more legislation to ban guns is because one reason: You all were warned about it and we have the proof.
Let's go back to the Brady Rating. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence's rating gives good marks to those places or politicians that will do their best to restrict the access of firearms to the general law-abading public. Obviosuly the worse grades are for those who support an armed society where criminals think twice about attacking the common folk in fear that they will get killed.
So Florida gets and F minus but who gets an A+? Well, crime-ridden Washington D.C. is the Brady's shrine, same goes for "peaceful" Chicago. Both cities have some of the most strict gun control laws available in the books, but darn it! them pesky criminals still don't get it.
So, let's see what other places that would rate an A+ according to The Brady Bunch's Scorebook:
Darfur has very strict Gun Control Laws. Nobody but Goverment Officials and the Military are allowed to have weapons. But somehow I don't think the general population is enjoying the "benefits" of such advanced thinking.
And then we have exotic Colombia, #1 in the world for murders. Gun Control is so strict you can get shot on sight by the police if they see you close to a gun. That should rate at least an A triple + rating from Sarah Brady.
And Next comes Venezuela. Not bloody you say? Where is the carnage? Well, the gentleman in the portrait was Jorge Aguirre. He was murdered by Venezuelan Police for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, namely taking pictures of the Revolutionary Cops doing misdeeds. Did I forget to mention that Mr. Aguirre was a journalist? How careless of me! I am so sorry. Did I mention that after goverment manages to subject people by denying them with the means to defend themselves, one of the first groups to go are dissident journalists? So, Beth Reinhard and Leslie Clark, you should keep that in mind before trying to curtail my rights.

I Am Just One Person
Found in a forum.
As I think more and more about the events of Monday, April 16, I can't get that thought out of my head.We are often told how "just one person can make a difference" to the environment or in our community. We are told that "just one person's vote can make a difference."We all know it's hogwash. It takes thousands of "just one person" so make a difference globally, nationally, or even locally. But in those classrooms and residence halls in Blacksburg, Virginia, Just. One. Person. legally licensed to carry a pistol could have made all the difference in the world to 32 people.Just. One. Person. In Omaha over the weekend, two armed gremlins abducted a woman, took her to a park, raped her, and then set the car on fire with her in it. Who was there to protect her from these thugs? Not the police. Not her husband/boyfriend/girlfriend. Not her father. Not her city councilman.Just. One. Person. In Kentucky over the weekend, an 82-year-old former Miss America balanced herself on a walker with one hand and defended herself with her .38 with the other hand. What on earth was this 82-year-old woman doing challenging these thugs? What was she thinking?Just. One. Person.Since the attacks at VA Tech last Monday, the collective testicular fortitude of the modern American has been challenged. At what point, many columnists and bloggers have asked, did the United States turn into a nation of cowards? When did we become so afraid of offending someoneor of standing up to someone that it became acceptable to roll over and accept death at the hands of a madman? What has this once great nation of pioneers, cowboys, adventurers, explorers....warriors... become?I thought we had seen the light in the post-Sept. 11 accounts of the heroics on United Flight 93. Instead of placidly sitting there, afraid of getting cut, passengers stormed the terrorists. In the end, the sacrifice of these brave souls saved countless lives as that flight'sintended target was likely either the White House or Congress.I thought, mistakenly apparently, that this nation had learned its lesson and would "never forget" the spirit behind "Let's Roll."I, as was many, very, very wrong. We have been told far too many times that the best thing to do when attacked is to instantly surrender. We have been told when a rapist strikes, to give in or offer a condom. We are told when faced with our own death, the best action is inaction.Enough.From here on out we must commit to a policy of action not inaction. We must realize, understand, then accept that no one is responsible for our safety but ourselves. The police do incredible work, but they are a response and recovery unit there to pick up the pieces after the crime. I am always looking out for my wife's safety, but I am not with her 24/7.Who is ultimately responsible for our safety?Just. One. Person.Read that. Retain that. Remember that. Repeat that.Just. One. Person. When you are contacting business owners about their "gun-free" stores, let them know the power of Just. One. Person. Remind them of the evil that could be prevented by Just. One. Person. Ask them to imagine themselves in a VA Tech classroom or a NASA office or a Texas cafeteria as a madman with a gun is shooting the unarmed. Ask those businessowners if, in that situation, they would still be as nervous if Just. One. Person had a firearm with which to fight back. When your political leaders are trying to further restrict and deny your right to a firearm, you tell them about Just. One. Person. Remember the power of Just. One. Person. Don't expect others to battle back against unjust laws. Don't rely on the NRA or the RKBA (Right to Keep and BearArms) or the GOA (Gun Owners of America) to protect your rights.Just as with the rapist, murder, or terrorist, no one can protect you from the politicos but you. If everyone remembers the power of Just. One. Person and takes on oppression, then we become a very, very powerful force.Just. One. Person.Three fairly small words. One massively important concept. Repeat these words as a mantra. Instill these words into your vocabulary. Find strength and inspiration from these words. Use these words as motivation, as response, as a touchstone, as power. Spread these words as one would spread a gospel. Share these words as one would share joy.Go out to the world today with a fresh outlook. Enter the world as Just. One. Person.Stop relying on others. Stop being soft. Stop giving in. Stop hoping a problem will become someone else's.Start being Just. One. Person.Be strong and proud to say "I am Just. One. Person. and I WILL stand up against whatever you bring to me!"

Bling Bling? Nope! BANG BANG!
Jewelry store owner shoots bandits
MIAMI HERALD
Two armed wanna-be jewelry thieves in Fort Lauderdale collected lead slugs instead of gems Wednesday morning after they faced-off against a store owner who was packing a handgun, police said. The gun battle, which took place shortly after 11 a.m. at Bentley's 1900 Jewelers on E. Oakland Park Boulevard, left the two bandits in critical condition, said Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Kathy Collins.''The first bad guy got shot in the head and was stopped,'' Collins said.``The second bad guy tried to get away, despite being shot several times, but we caught him a few minutes later.''Police are on the scene and are investigating.
Last I heard on TV both Yos are still in the hospital. One shot in the head and the other shot several times in the chest. The old saying is still true: God created man, Sam Colt made them equal.
Bad Guy shot in the head on his way to the Hospital.Maybe he will become a productive member of society after he recovers.....and goes to jail for armed robbery.
